About me

Hi, my name is Jenni! I'm originally from NYC but moved to the South in hopes of living a better life. Being away from the busy city life let me fall in love with coding all over again. I watch a lot of streamers and try to support as many as I can financially afford, so I decided to build this app to help me keep up with everyone at once, lol.

Is this safe? Will it give me a virus?

Yes, it's safe. Splyt Streams doesn't ask you to download anything — it's just a website. Every stream you watch here is Twitch's own official embedded video player, the same one used on twitch.tv itself. If you choose to log in, that happens on Twitch's own login page — you never type your Twitch password into this site, only into Twitch's.

Do I have to log in to use this?

No. Adding channels and watching multiple streams at once works with zero sign-in required.

What do I get if I do log in?

Logging in with Twitch lets you chat directly from the app across all the channels you've added, and see which of your followed channels are live in the "Following" tab.

What information does the app collect?

None on my end. I don't run a database and I'm not able to see any personal data. Your channel list is saved only in your own browser and never sent anywhere. If you log in, Twitch issues an authorization token that only briefly passes through this app's server to complete the login — I don't see or store your Twitch password, ever.

Why does it ask for permissions when I log in?

Twitch requires you to explicitly approve each permission the app requests before logging in. Here's what each one is for:

  • Read and send chat messages — so you can chat from here.
  • See your followed channels — powers the "Following" tab.

Is this made or endorsed by Twitch?

No. Splyt Streams is an independent, unofficial project built using Twitch's public developer API. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Twitch.

Is there a cost?

The app itself is completely free. There's an optional tip jar in the footer if you'd like to help cover hosting costs, but it's never required to use anything on the site.
